The best holiday ever
¡Hi!
So, for the context, every summer I travel with my mother and sister to the south to spend the whole summer at my grandparents' house. There we get together with my aunts, uncles, cousins (with almost all my family, really, hahaha), to spend time together and recharge energies before starting the year and return to the routine.
In the summer of 2019, while talking with my whole family, the idea of going camping for the weekend at a lake came up. So, after looking for different options, we decided to go to Lake Lanalhue, since it was about a two-hour drive from my grandparents' house, so it was relatively close. The lake has exquisite water for swimming, and you can also practice kayak or water ski. The lake is located in the Bio-bio region, and the campsite we went to was a very nice and quiet place, it had a big store where we could buy different things, and they also showed movies at night. It also had an incredible view of the lake and its immense green hills full of native trees that surrounded it.
During the weekend we were there with my family we had a lot of fun, we played, chatted and sang during the evenings around the campfire, or went for a walk along the lake shore under the moonlight and stars (which in the south are very bright) with the sound of the waves crashing on the shore in the background.
The last day we were there it was very cloudy, it was cold, but we still swam in the lake. We spent the whole afternoon swimming and when we got out, suddenly a storm started, the wind was so strong that it knocked over almost everything we had on the tables. We watched as people ran to get into their cars while they waited for the wind to die down. When that happened, we started to pack everything to go back to my grandparents' house, but while we were doing that it started to rain, we were all very wet, but instead of rushing to pack to leave quickly (as all people did), with my family ran in the direction of the lake. Yes, we decided to go into the water and swim while it was raining, maybe you think the water was cold, but not really, it was warm, we were in the water for a long time, until it was time to leave, but since everything got wet because of the storm, we had no choice but to go to my grandparents' house practically all wet, hahaha.
In the end, everything that happened that weekend became a great anecdote and nice memory, making it a memorable trip.
